Who runs MoreThanCoders?

I'm David Ziemann, and I've been building software for over 15 years. I currently work as a Director of Software Engineering for an animal health company in the midwest.

I believe software engineers are so much more than the code they write. I've seen brilliant software engineers struggle to advance their careers because they lacked skills like communication and empathy. This is why I built MoreThanCoders.

I wanted to focus on teaching essential skills so that software engineers can excel in their careers. There are countless tools to help devs learn new languages, but limited resources to help them grow as people.

We are more than just coders and I truly believe that we can change the perception around software development by growing out professional skills.

Let's Change the Industry

There is a lot of misinformation and lack of understanding around what it means to be a software developer. This misinformation can lead to people making assumptions or judgments about software engineers that are untrue or unfair.

We want to change this by providing accurate information and resources for people who are interested in learning more about what it means to be a software engineer, how to represent yourself and the organization, and how to continually grow your professional skills.

If you are ready to grow your professional skillset and learn how to improve your career as a software engineer, let's take the first step.
